Unwanted Dark Circles

So far, this is the best concealor that I have found and I have tried a lot. I went to Sephora yesterday and spent about an hour there just focusing on concealor just for undereyes. My good friend had recommended one to me but I had to see what else was out there first and I wasn't satisfied with what I was currently using. The problem during the winter is that many people's eye areas gets dry and a lot of undereye concealors are very drying and matte which can actually make the eye areas even more dry and also accentuate the lines around the eyes.

The undereye concealor that I went with was Laura Mercier's "Secret Concealor" which you can check out on her website: http://www.lauramercier.com/store/shop/Concealers_Secret-Concealer_prod220006. I liked this concealor best because it is super creamy, non-drying and also has a little bit of irridesence to it. It actually brightens the eye area.

When applying concealor I not only put it under my eyes but I also put a little bit on the inner corner of my top lid as well (just depends on how bad they are looking). Just be careful when applying, because you don't want to end up with the raccoon look. Lastly, when applying this particular concealor, I prefer using a concealor brush (see image below) but you can also use your finger, however the only downside to that is that you will probably use more product and also germs.

Make Cosmetics Safer For YOU!

Check out this website I found thanks to my friend Anne. It tells you all about the chemicals in cosmetics today that are not good for your face, body, the environment, etc. Take some time and get educated. There is a short video, as well, that is pretty interesting. One of the main ingredients that is particularly harmful is TRICLOSAN. Check it out and let me know what you think: http://safecosmetics.live2.radicaldesigns.org/index.

HD Make-up

Need make-up for photos or video, like for your wedding day? My favorite to use on brides, bridal parties and mothers of the bride/groom is Make-Up Forever's "HD Foundation". It is light enough to use on a daily basis but the coverage is great enough that you barely need to use any concealor at all! It looks fabulous in any type of media: video, photography. etc. The setting powder is also amazing and makes your face feel like satin after all of your make-up is done. However, you want to put the "HD Powder" on as a very last step to set everything (after blush, eyes, etc.). To see more about these products visit Make-Up Forever's website: http://www.makeupforever.com.

Natural yet Defined Eyebrows

My latest great product find has been the Highlighting Brow Kit by Anastasia and it can be found on her website http://www.anastasia.net/. She actually has a ton of fabulous eyebrow products and she has, by far, made the best products, yet, for the eyebrows. They stay put all day and are not like regular powder eyeshadows. This particular product is a shadow for filling in the eyebrows without looking to fake or dark. There are three shades, so the kit is suitable for blondes and brunettes, but maybe not redheads. It also comes with a highlighting trio on the right side that is great for giving your brow an arch. Lastly, you can use all of the colors for eyeshadows.

MAKE-UP TIP: When filling in your eyebrows use a lighter shade on the inner part (closer to the nose and where they are thicker) and a darker shade as they thin out.

Louisville Magazine

Most recently, I got to do the make-up and hair for the cover of the December Issue of Louisville Magazine. My friend, John Nation, who is the photographer for Louisville Magazine, asked me if I would be interested and I could not have been happier! The picture of the cover is below and I think that it turned out great. The story was about the top places to work in Louisville.

I also want to share with you all some of my favorite products and also brand new products that I run across that need to have your immediate attention!
